State CE Requirements
This site helps you identify your state licensure requirements and quickly find Advocate Health courses that support them.
It serves as a central resource for licensed professionals to meet continuing education and licensure requirements. Users can select a state to view specific requirements, while the main page features relevant courses in the CE Learning platform to support compliance, including our Licensure Courses and DEA Education Courses.
The page also supports the DEA’s one-time requirement for 8 hours of opioid and/or substance use disorder education by providing curated internal and external resources.
Our goal is to bring licensure requirements and educational resources together in one place to make compliance simpler and more accessible.
Explore the Licensure and DEA Education Courses learning resources further down the page.
Requirements are subject to change. Each professional is responsible for verifying and meeting the requirements for their specific licensure.

DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) Licensure Requirements
As of June 27, 2023 all Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-registered practitioners need to attest to 8 hours of CME dedicated to Opioid Use Disorder and/or Substance Use Disorder. This is a one-time attestation for all new and renewal applications. Past trainings do count towards the 8-hour requirement. If you previously held an X-Wavier or are boarded certified in addiction medicine, no further education is required for the DEA. Read more about the New DEA training requirement here.
Requirements are subject to change, and each professional is responsible for ensuring that they are meeting the requirements for their licensure.
