South Carolina has issued a series of continuing education requirements for licensed professionals. Advocate Health has several offerings to help our licensed professionals meet these requirements.

Requirements are subject to change. Each professional is responsible for verifying and meeting the requirements for their specific licensure.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN)

• Continuing education must be relevant to the APRN's area of practice and obtained through approved providers in accordance with South Carolina Board of Nursing requirements.

Dentists

Nurses

• Continuing education must be obtained from a provider recognized by the South Carolina Board of Nursing and meet all Board requirements.

Pharmacists: 

• Continuing education must be obtained through ACPE-approved providers (or other qualifying education as recognized by the Board) and meet South Carolina Board of Pharmacy requirements.

Pharmacy Technicians

• Registration with the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy is required to practice as a pharmacy technician. 
• Pharmacy technicians must maintain a NABP e-Profile ID and comply with all continuing education requirements established by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.

Physicians

• Continuing education must be obtained through approved providers and meet South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners requirements.

Physician Assistants:  

• Continuing education must be obtained through approved providers and meet South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners requirements

Psychologists

• Continuing education compliance is tracked through CE Broker, the official CE reporting system used by the Board.
• Continuing education must meet South Carolina Board of Examiners in Psychology requirements.

Social Workers: 

• Social workers are required to report continuing education through CE Broker, the official continuing education tracking system for the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners.
