Opioid Dependence Vs Opioid Use Disorder: How to help a Patient through Withdrawal Recorded Presentation

This conference explores the distinctions between opioid dependence and opioid use disorder (OUD), emphasizing how chronic opioid use can alter brain function and lead to withdrawal symptoms. It provides a clinical framework for identifying OUD in patients with chronic pain and outlines evidence-based strategies for managing withdrawal and treating pain in individuals with OUD, including the use of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and supportive therapies. Real-world cases are used to illustrate best practices and emerging challenges, such as xylazine adulteration.
