Early detection of sepsis, with the timely administration of appropriate fluids and antibiotics, appear to be the single most important factors in reducing morbidity and mortality from sepsis. In high-income countries, this means organization of systems responsible for patient care, strong leadership, and an effective optimization of resources for prevention

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the activity the participant should be able to describe key elements of treatment protocols for patients with sepsis, sequelae that complicate the patient’s recovery and develop treatment protocols to address the acute and recovery phases of sepsis.
