Welcome to the Illinois Licensure Requirements from IDFPR

Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has issued a series of continuing education requirements for licensed professionals. Advocate Health has several offerings to help our licensed professionals meet these requirements. Requirements are subject to change, and each professional is responsible for ensuring that they are meeting the requirements for their licensure. 

Nurses & APRNs: Click here for complete information about IL state licensure requirements for Nursing. All requirements below count towards the 20 CE hours for RNs/LPNs and 80 CE hours for APRNs. The next renewal deadline is May 31, 2026. See below for several activities that help meet these requirements. Please note, that not all the activities below are required for all nurses. Please click the link above for details on what is required for your role. 

PAs:  Click here and here for complete information about IL state licensure requirements. All of the special CE requirements noted count toward the 50 CE hours required for renewal. 

Physicians:  Click here for complete information about IL state licensure requirements. All of the special CME requirements noted count toward the 150 CME hours required for renewal.  The next renewal deadline is July 31, 2026.

    Recognizing Dementia
