Advocate Health Cultural Competency Training for Licensed Healthcare Professionals 2025

Overview

Research reveals that health disparities and outcomes are affected by the behaviors of healthcare providers. This activity will help learners identify ways they can be more culturally competent and show cultural humility. Advocate Health teammates will gain knowledge on accessing Advocate-Health resources to support positive future interactions with patients of different cultural backgrounds.

Target Audience

This course is intended for Nursing, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Physicians, Social Work, Psychology, and other interested health care professionals.  

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize the meaning of cultural competency
  2. Appreciate the value of culturally competent care and need for cultural humility
  3. Identify opportunities and strategize ways to integrate culturally competent care utilizing Advocate Health resources​​
