When Seconds Count: Mastering Medical Emergencies
This session equips participants with hands-on skills in code cart navigation, oxygen delivery device classification, cardiac arrest response workflows, and management of tubes, lines, and drains during medical emergencies. All members of the patient care team, inpatient, and outpatient departments are welcome to attend.
This conference is being held in person/virtually.
NOTE: Please note this activity will be presented 3:00pm – 4:15pm CST / 4:00pm - 5:15pm EST
Target Audience
This course is intended for nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Review code cart contents and locate commonly used items.
- Classify oxygen delivery devices used during a medical emergency.
- Participate in a ‘First 5 Minutes’ cardiac arrest scenario to anticipate patient needs and BLS/ACLS workflows.
- Discuss techniques to manage tubes, lines, and drains during medical emergencies.
