Smart Chart Acute HOD Provider 100
In this course, participants will learn how to find patients in Epic scheduled in a Hospital Outpatient Department (HOD), navigate within the HOD schedule, document within the HOD navigator and enter orders when not face-to-face with a patient.
Target Audience
Inpatient Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APP's)
Learning Objectives
- Operate the EMR in a safe and efficient manner
- Review clinical information effectively
- Electronically order appropriate tests, including lab and radiology studies
- Electronically order medications and prescriptions
- Electronically document all care that was provided in both inpatient and ambulatory venues
This course covers:
- access and utilize the HOD Visit Navigator
- configure the appropriate hospital outpatient department on the Schedule workspace
- know why you cannot open a patient record before they check in
- utilize the correct workflow to enter orders when not face-to-face with the patient
- document in the navigator for an HOD Encounter
