In this course, participants will learn about how to document the delivery and caring for a laboring patient.
Target Audience
Inpatient Obstetrician, Family Practice, and Certified Nurse Midwife
Learning Objectives
- Operate the EMR in a safe and efficient manner
- Review clinical information effectively
- Electronically order appropriate tests, including lab and radiology studies
- Electronically order medications and prescriptions
- Electronically document all care that was provided in both inpatient and ambulatory venues
This course covers:
- Document details of delivery
- Create a Delivery Summary Note
- Describe the workflows for Cesarean documentation
- Describe the workflow for Circumcision documentation
- Review a patient's prenatal chart
- Review the status of the patient's labor
- Update the admission problem list for a pregnant patient
- Document a cervical exam
- Write a history and physical note for a patient admitted to L&D
- Place admission orders for a patient admitted to L&D
- Use the Rounding Navigator to document further exams and place additional orders
- Place Triage Order Set for a Triage Patient
