Pharmacist role in insulin management through utilization of continuous glucose monitoring

This presentation will provide an overview of utilizing continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in diabetes management. This presentation will also identify the role of pharmacists in patient care by interpreting CGM data to optimize treatment plan and providing CGM education.

  • Define the role of continuous glucose monitoring in diabetes management
  • Identify patients who would be appropriate candidates for continuous glucose monitoring
  • Interpret continuous glucose monitoring data to optimize patient's insulin regimen
  • Develop counseling strategies for educating patients on effective continuous glucose monitoring utilization
