Overview
This is a 1-hour class for pediatric nurses that take care of patients with port-a-caths. Please join us for an overview and hands-on demonstration and return demonstration.
Target Audience
This course is intended for pediatric nurses who care for patients with port-a-caths.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Describe key elements in the care and maintenance of a port-a-cath in pediatric patients, identify troubleshooting strategies to manage possible problems with port-a-caths, and demonstrate how to properly access and de-access a port-a-cath
