Pediatric EKG 2025: January 15

This 7.25 hour faculty directed program will cover the five-step approach used to analyze EKG rhythm strips. The learner will be able to describe the anatomy and electrophysical properties of the heart.  Characteristics, interpretation, significance and treatment/nursing measures will discussed for atrial arrhythmias, sinus arrhythmias, junctional arrhythmias, atrioventricular block arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias.  Learner centered content delivery will occur in the format of lecture, case studies and discussion.  An exam will be administered at the conclusion of the class. Successful passing of EKG exam of 80% or greater.

Target Audience

This course is intended for nurses and other interested healthcare professionals.

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the anatomy and electrophysical properties of the heart
  2. Utilize 5 step approach to interpretate a six second EKG strip
  3. Recognize common pediatric arrythmias and their interventions
