Pediatric EKG 2023 September 20
This 7.25-hour faculty directed program will cover the five-step approach used to analyze EKG rhythm strips. The learner will be able to describe the anatomy and electrophysical properties of the heart. Characteristics, interpretation, significance and treatment/nursing measures will be discussed for atrial arrhythmias, sinus arrhythmias, junctional arrhythmias, atrioventricular block arrhythmias and ventricular arrhythmias. Learner centered content delivery will occur in the format of lecture, case studies and discussion. An exam will be administered at the conclusion of the class. Successful passing of EKG exam of 80% or greater. Learners can attend one session.
Target Audience
This course is intended for Pediatric Registered Nurses and Pediatric Respiratory Therapists.

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
Describe the anatomy and electrophysical properties of the heart
Utilize 5 step approach to interpretate a six second EKG strip
Recognize common pediatric arrythmias and their interventions
