Opioid Prescribing Procedure-APP

Opioid prescribing is still an issue across the country.  This course was developed by AAH to simplify guidelines to enable prescribing clinicians across AAH to closely monitor patients’ opioid use.

Target Audience

This course is intended for APP physicians.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  • Define Acute vs Chronic Opioid Prescribing
  • Describe the Advocate Aurora Opioid Prescribing Procedure, including screening and monitoring patients on chronic opioids for pain management   
  • Describe recommendations for urine drug screening
  • Discuss special risks of opioid prescribing for the pediatric population
