New Clinician Onboarding: Evaluation and Management (E/M) Shared Services
This digital course offers clinicians an in-depth understanding of coding fundamentals essential for accurate documentation and compliance.
Target Audience
This course is intended for physicians, physician assistants, and all other clinicians regardless of specialty or sub-specialty.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Describe key components of E/M coding, including patient type, service type, and levels of service.
- Differentiate between code selection based on medical decision making versus time and identify appropriate E/M codes.
- Analyze documentation to determine the correct level of E/M service based on MDM elements: number and complexity of problems, data reviewed, and risk.
- Define Prolonged services, Consultation, Emergency Department Services, and Advance Care Planning.
