Kickstart My Heart: Adjunct Therapies in Cardiac Arrest
Medications not currently included in the ACLS algorithm are commonly used for patients in cardiac arrest. This presentation will analyze current literature evaluating the efficacy and proposed benefit of these adjunct treatments.

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to
- Recognize key elements of the advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) algorithm for patients in cardiac arrest.
- Analyze recent clinical trials evaluating the use of calcium chloride in cardiac arrest.
- Evaluate the proposed benefit of sodium bicarbonate and esmolol in cardiac arrest.
- Assess the role of magnesium in cardiac arrest.
