It Looks Like You Could Use a Shot: Updated Immunization Recommendations for Meningococcal Disease, RSV, Influenza, and COVID-19 Recorded Session

This program will provide an overview of meningococcal disease, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, and COVID-19 and the current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) immunization recommendations for each disease state, with an emphasis on recent updates, high-risk patient populations, and vaccine formulations on formulary at Advocate Health. Background information regarding the CDC, ACIP, and how they determine their vaccination recommendations will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify patients at highest risk for complications from meningococcal disease and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). 
  2. Incorporate current meningococcal vaccine recommendations into the shared decision-making process for vulnerable groups.
  3. Compare and contrast available vaccine options for preventing RSV and use in specific patient populations.
  4. Apply updated 2024-2025 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations to patients interested in influenza and COVID-19 vaccination.
