This presentation will provide an overview on protozoan infections, covering background information on the causes of these infections. It will also include a disease state management overview and the clinical challenges of treating these infections. The presentation will explore indicated therapeutics regimens, highlighting the drugs and treatment strategies tailored or specific protozoan diseases.

  2. Outline the various mechanisms of pathogenesis of protozoa. 
  3. Compare anti-protozoan treatment regimens and drug resistance trends. 
  4. Design a treatment plan for a patient with a protozoan infection based on patient characteristics and available regimens.
