GSH Critical Care Trauma Simulations 2026: Sep 15 - 8AM
This course is specifically for GSH critical care RNs to meet part of the required annual trauma education. These simulations will focus on neurovascular assessments for early recognition of compartment syndrome and in the safe, standardized execution of the Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP). This activity is designed to reinforce evidence-based assessment skills and standardized trauma responses to ensure timely intervention, optimize patient outcomes, and reduce preventable harm.
This conference is being held in person. This site is for credit claiming only.

Target Audience
This course is intended for nurses.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Identify patients at risk for massive hemorrhage who may require activation of the Massive Transfusion Protocol (MTP).
- Safely administer blood products and medications in accordance with MTP guidelines.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork and closed-loop communication among interprofessional team members during the management of a massive hemorrhage and MTP event.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive neurovascular assessment for a patient at risk for compartment syndrome.
- Demonstrate timely assessment, escalation of care, and implementation of appropriate interventions for a patient experiencing compartment syndrome.
