Evidence Based Competencies for Nurses in Healthcare: Module 2- Describing Clinical Problems and Formulating PICOT (Competencies 2 & 3)
The purpose of this module is to assist the learner in defining internal evidence, describing sources of internal evidence, providing examples of retrieval processes, describing the purpose of a PICOT (patient, intervention, comparison, outcome and [sometimes] time) question, synthesizing clinical inquiry questions into PICOT format, and formulating a PICOT question leading to an effective search for evidence.
