E:360 Advocate Health Emergency Nursing Symposium 2024
Please note the Time Zone for the Symposium: 0900-1300 CST and 1000-1400 EST
Advocate Health is organizing the 360 Emergency Nursing Symposium on December 6, 2024, to enhance the skills and knowledge of emergency nursing professionals. This inaugural event, part of the Emergency Care Service Line, will provide critical continuing education opportunities through a live internet format. With an anticipated 4 hours of instruction, the symposium will cover essential topics such as triage intake, the ENA Lantern Award, and strategies for opioid reduction. By gathering experts and practitioners, Advocate Health aims to foster a collaborative learning environment that addresses current challenges and advances best practices in emergency care.
The 360 Emergency Nursing Symposium will provide participants with in-depth knowledge in several key areas essential for effective emergency care:
Triage Intake: Attendees will learn advanced triage techniques to improve patient assessment and prioritization in high-pressure situations. This knowledge will enhance their ability to make rapid, informed decisions, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and more efficient emergency department operations.
ENA Lantern Award: Participants will explore the criteria and significance of the ENA Lantern Award, which recognizes excellence in emergency nursing. This session will emphasize the importance of best practices, innovative care models, and leadership in nursing, inspiring attendees to strive for excellence in their own practices.
Opioid Reduction: With the ongoing opioid crisis, the symposium will address evidence-based strategies for opioid reduction in emergency settings. Attendees will learn about alternative pain management techniques, appropriate prescribing practices, and patient education strategies. This knowledge aims to reduce opioid dependency and improve patient safety.
Expected Effects and Outcomes:
Enhanced Competence: Participants will leave with practical skills and updated knowledge, improving their confidence and effectiveness in emergency care.
Improved Patient Care: By applying learned techniques, nurses can better manage patient flow, improve pain management, and enhance overall care quality.
Collaboration and Networking: The symposium will foster connections among emergency care professionals, encouraging collaboration and the sharing of best practices.
Accredited Continuing Education: Participants will earn credits that contribute to their professional development and licensure requirements, reinforcing the value of lifelong learning in nursing.
Overall, the symposium aims to empower emergency nurses with the knowledge and tools necessary to improve clinical practices, leading to safer, more effective care in emergency settings.
This conference is being held virtually.
