Don't Stop the Feeding: A Journey Into Enteral Nutrition in the Critically Ill
This program aims to discuss the risks and benefits of enteral feeding in critically ill patients, and explore strategies for managing enteral feeding in patients receiving vasoactive medications. More specifically, controversy exists as to whether enteral feeding should be delayed if critically ill patients are receiving vasopressor medications due to concerns of gastrointestinal ischemia and potential harm to the patient. This presentation will summarize current literature and guideline recommendations surrounding such scenarios, and provide learners with evidence to guide their clinical decision making in this patient population.
