This presentation will include information about rate and rhythm control, anticoagulation recommendations, and other treatment plans for patients with atrial arrhythmias and other concomitant disease states.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to

  • Define atrial arrhythmias, including atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardia, and premature atrial contractions.
  • Evaluate anticoagulation strategies for patients with atrial arrhythmias and other concomitant disease states, such as undergoing percutaneous interventions.
  • Design a pharmacologic treatment plan for patients with atrial arrhythmias when given a patient case.
  • Summarize the use of technology, like smart watches and cardiac monitors, in managing patients with atrial arrhythmias.
