This is a series of professional education events related to the practice of systemic psychotherapy around a theme of facilitating change and post-traumatic growth. Join us for workshops on a variety of topics.

This session focuses on the ethical and legal considerations surrounding the use of telehealth and artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health practice. The information presented aims to help mental health professionals integrate emerging technologies responsibly while maintaining ethical, legal, and professional standards.

This conference is being held virtually.

Target Audience

This course is intended for mental health practitioners, including psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers, professional counselors, and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Summarize the current ethical standards for the use of telehealth and AI in mental health practice.
  2. Describe the current legal standards for the use of telehealth and AI in mental health practice in Illinois and Wisconsin
  3. Identify and describe ethical application and ethical pitfalls of AI in the practice of therapy, business of therapy, enhancement of knowledge, and practice of supervision
  4. Examine the ethical implications generally of engaging in AI, including in the context of environmental/ecological impact of AI
