Buprenorphine For Opioid Use Disorder (CRNA)
This course will review of the use of buprenorphine for the treatment of opioid use disorder and discuss the barriers, challenges, risks, and efficacy of buprenorphine treatment. Although evidence from numerous studies has shown buprenorphine to be effective for the treatment of opioid use disorder, a majority of patients with opioid use disorder do not receive buprenorphine, or any other medical treatment.

This course enhances the CRNAs' knowledge of nurse anesthesia practice, prioritizing patient safety and qualifies for MAC Dev credits, formerly Class B. CRNAs should upload and archive completion documentation on the AANA website. CRNAs must retain copies of all documentation used to demonstrate certification compliance consistent with NBCRNA policy.

This activity is designed for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA).

- Explain why buprenorphine is not prescribed more
- Discuss which patients are good candidates pain management with buprenorphine
