ALGH Interdisciplinary Mega Code 2025: Sept 9

The course is a supplement to the RQI ACLS provider who is new or does not utilize ACLS regularly and needs refreshers. The course includes hands on defibrillator and medication administration skills, cardiac rhythm evaluation and treatment using ACLS protocols, in a 1-hour interdisciplinary team training using rapid cycle, deliberate practice simulation.

This conference is being held in-person at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Simulation Center.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and respiratory therapists

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate appropriate use of the defibrillator in a code event. 
  2. Assemble a bag-valve-mask device and emergency medications in a code from the emergency cart, if applicable to role. 
  3. Identify and manage abnormal cardiac rhythms incorporating ACLS protocols. 
  4. Perform ACLS, effectively taking a role, and providing closed-loop communication. 
  5. Identify at least one high-reliability tool or tactic and how it can be utilized during this scenario​
