Overview

This class discusses the basics of pacing along with nursing management of patients with permanent and temporary pacemakers.

This conference is being held in person.

Target Audience

This course is intended for Critical Care and Telemetry Nurses

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the different types of pacing systems
  2. State the indications and complications of temporary pacing
  3. Identify the settings on a pacemaker
  4. Differentiate the pacing modes
  5. State at least one intervention for each of the following: failure to pace, failure to capture, and failure to sense
  6. Describe nursing care associated with caring for a patient with a pacemaker
