The Acuity of Prolonged QT/QTc: Medication Risk Stratification

This presentation will discuss risk factors, assessment and treatment strategies for prolonged QTc intervals and provide guidance for risk stratification for QTc prolonging medications.​

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to

  • Recognize characteristics of a normal electrocardiogram
  • Identify patient risk factors for developing QTc prolongation
  • Analyze current literature pertaining to QTc prolongation effects of several different medication classes
  • Develop a patient care plan for the monitoring and treatment of patients with QTc prolongation
