AAH Nursing Grand Rounds Recordings 2024: Implementing a Screening Tool for Youth at Risk for Commercial Sexual Exploitation

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) is a major public health issue in the United States. These youth seek out healthcare during exploitation and are not identified by healthcare personnel. This session will feature how a validated CSEC screening tool for youth age 11 – 17 was implemented in a Pediatric Emergency Room.

This course is intended for Nurses (all levels of preparation)

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Define commercial exploitation of children (CSEC) and it’s impact on the healthcare system in the United States.
  2. Identify associated characteristics that make youth potentially at-risk for CSEC.
  3. Discuss validated CSEC tool, implementation, and implications.
  4. Identify 1-2 specific implications to apply to their practice.
