AAH Hand Hygiene Improvement Project
Advocate Aurora Health team members are working to keep our patients, our families, and ourselves safe by holding each other accountable. By actively participating in the 2020-2021 Hand Hygiene Improvement Project, you are eligible to claim MOC practice assessment/practice improvement credit. Click here for more information about how this project will be recognized by your certifying Board.
To participate and claim MOC credit, please complete the following:
- Enroll in the project under the "Take Course" tab.
- Begin project by documenting your plan-do-study-act (PDSA) cycles for the project (directions provided at time of enrollment).
- Actively participate in the project by assessing and adjusting your own hand hygiene.
- Regularly review your location's progress towards their goal of 100% compliance with hand hygiene.
- Complete at least 2 discussions (per cycle) with peers and/or team members about hand hygiene; provide real-time feedback.
- At the end of two PDSA cycles, fully complete the attestation form. You will need to provide your NPI and your Board ID numbers.

This QI Effort meets MOC Part IV Standards and Guidelines for the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Multi-Specialty Portfolio Approval Program Organization and is eligible for MOC Part IV through participating ABMS Member Boards and for Category 1 PI-CME credits through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. If you are certified by multiple Boards, this project will count towards all participating Boards. You will need to provide the names of the Boards as well as your certification number for each Board you list.
Upon successful completion and attestation, the Advocate Aurora Health CME Office will review your completed project. If it is completed satisfactorily, the CME Office will submit the project to the ABMS who will in turn submit the completion data directly to your certifying Board. It will take approximately one month for the completion to register with your Board.
The attestations are frequently audited by the Boards, so please provide complete, thoughtful responses. Advocate Aurora Health CME Office reserves the right to reject any incomplete attestations.
Available Credit
- 1.00 MOC Part IVAurora Health Care has been approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties as a portfolio provider for Part IV Credits towards Maintenance of Certification. This applies only to those Boards participating in the MSPP Program. Check with your certifying Board for specifics. Any fees relating to Board Certification still apply.
