Description: Thrombophilia is a hypercoagulable condition, with patients having an abnormal predisposition to excessive blood clots forming as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism (PE), and other thrombotic events. Common types of thrombophilia include inherited types such as: Factor V Leiden, Antithrombin III deficiency, Protein C deficiency, Protein S deficiency, and acquired type of antiphospholipid syndrome.
