Objectives 

At the end of this course, team members will:

  • Identify patient and circuit indications of decreased pump preload in VA ECMO
  • Identify proper cannula position for VA ECMO
  • Describe clinical signs of a malpositioned cannula in a patient on VA ECMO
  • Implement corrective action when the cannula is malpositioned
  • Demonstrate communication skills among ECMO team members.
