This presentation will identify common challenges that pharmacy preceptors encounter in both site-based and virtual practice settings that may contribute to inefficiencies in the precepting process.  It will also discuss practical strategies to address these challenges and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of precepting for all pharmacy learners, including students, residents, and pharmacy technicians.

  • Outline efficient precepting plan of action for on-site learners in the pharmacy department
  • Discuss strategies for assigning high value independent work for on-site pharmacy learners
  • Recognize challenges in virtual pharmacy precepting
  • Develop an action plan incorporating simple strategies to improve efficiency in remote pharmacy precepting for pharmacists and technicians
