Target Audience

Those who work in Aurora Pain Clinics, including Physicians, PA’s, Psychologists, NP’s, Psychiatrists, EM, FM, Social Workers, Substance Abuse Counselors.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this educational experience, the participant will be able to demonstrate expertise in:

  1. How to explain the general mechanism of action of anticonvulsants for pain to a patient
  2. The individual mechanisms of action for the various anticonvulsants
  3. Individual anticonvulsants’ ADRs and those requiring lab testing
  4. The ADR that virtually all anticonvulsants have and recommended treatment to avoid it
  5. Dosing and titration regimens for each anticonvulsant
