ALGH ACLS Foundations 2024: November 7

The course is a supplement to the RQI ACLS provider who is new or does not utilize ACLS regularly. The course includes hands on defibrillator and medication administration skills, cardiac rhythm evaluation and treatment using ACLS protocols, and interdisciplinary team training using rapid cycle, deliberate practice.

Target Audience

This course is intended for ACLS Certified Nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate appropriate use of the defibrillator in a code event
  2. Discuss basic contents of the crash cart
  3. Assemble a bag-valve-mask device and emergency medications in a code from the crash cart
  4. Identify and manage abnormal tachycardic cardiac rhythms incorporating ACLS protocols
  5. Demonstrate effective teamwork and communication during a code event, including roles and use of safety tools and tactics
