This seminar will review the most common emergencies experienced by patients during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. The content will cover pharmacologic management  and guideline directed strategies for pharmacists to utilize when responding to obstetric emergencies.

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to

  • Identify the most frequent emergencies experienced by patients during pregnancy, labor and delivery​
  • Assess physiologic limitations and barriers to treatment of pregnant patients​
  • Evaluate the pharmacist’s role in the management of obstetric emergencies​
  • Recognize appropriate pharmacologic interventions in the management of obstetric emergencies
