At the end of this session, learners should be able to:
- Recognize the signs and dangers of chronic kidney disease
- Improve partnerships with patients to reduce morbidity and mortality due to CKD by managing other diseases, especially hypertension and diabetes
- Distinguish among options available for patients needing dialysis
- Refer patients to specialists when appropriate
