This class will discuss the care and management of the pediatric post-operative heart transplant patient.  This class is intended for pediatric bedside nurses in the critical care setting.

This course is intended for nurses and other health care professionals.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  • Identify the indications and process of heart transplantation, 
  • Describe transplant related infection and rejection, 
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the care and management of the pre-operative, post-operative and discharge planning for the heart transplant patient.
