Epic Ambulatory Provider 2024

This course is available to Epic Community Connect teammates only. This course needs to be completed with a trainer as it requires specific Epic system training.

The Epic learning events are intended to provide training of clinical tools to enhance patient care. The lesson plans for each course will focus on particular workflows that are required to successfully use Epic to accomplish Advocate Health’s mission.

In this course, the user will learn how to navigate in Epic, review the rooming documentation entered by nurse or MA, place orders, and pull in outside medical records. Users will learn to document progress notes, diagnoses, procedure notes, letters, and telephone calls from patients.

Target Audience

This course is intended for physicians and other interested health care professionals. 

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Operate the EMR in a safe and efficient manner 
  2. Review clinical information effectively 
  3. Accurately create, edit, and document procedures and diagnoses
  4. Correctly order tests, medications, and prescriptions
