Through a combination of interactive lectures, inanimate model labs, and high-fidelity simulation, participants will enhance their proficiency in complex airway procedures and crisis response. Attendees will engage in hands-on training for video laryngoscopy, flexible endoscopic intubation, surgical airway access, pediatric airway techniques, and more. Small group simulations and team-based scenarios will reinforce clinical decision-making and leadership skills in high-stakes situations. This course is ideal for practicing specialists, fellows, residents, medical students, and pre-hospital providers, including EMS, RTs, and APPs.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this session, learners should be able to:

  1. Identify anatomical and physiological factors that complicate emergency airway management.
  2. Demonstrate advanced airway techniques, including video laryngoscopy, flexible endoscopic intubation, and surgical airway access.
  3. Perform team-based airway simulations using inanimate and high-fidelity models.
  4. Apply evidence-based strategies for selecting appropriate airway interventions in emergent scenarios.
  5. Evaluate team performance and communication during interdisciplinary airway simulations.
  6. Integrate leadership and decision-making skills in time-sensitive airway emergencies.
