Description: This program aims to discuss the 2023 American Heart Association's focused update on the management of patients with cardiac arrest or life-threatening toxicity due to poisoning, specifically focusing on common toxicities seen in clinical practice. This program will discuss pathophysiology of these toxicities as well as treatment options recommended by the American Heart Association's updated guidelines. Mechanism of these treatment modalities will be expanded on and further evaluated. This presentation will discuss and evaluate literature mentioned in the guidelines. Current trends seen in the occurrence of these toxicities will be discussed as well as signs and symptoms of these toxicities.
