Description: The goal of this presentation is to provide background information regarding the complement system and hematological conditions that are affected by the complement system. After grasping an understanding of the complement system and key hematological conditions, we will explore the use of complement inhibitors in these conditions.

  • Identify the role and function of the complement system
  • Assess hematologic conditions that involve the complement system
  • Compare and contrast the use of complement inhibitors in treating hematologic conditions 
  • Formulate a comprehensive treatment plan that incorporates complement inhibitors
