Objectives: ​​

  • Examine the incidence and impact of cardiac device infections based on device type.
  • Identify common pathogens leading to cardiac device infections.
  • Implement common empiric treatment for patients with a suspected cardiac device infection.
  • Illustrate treatment of resistant infections (including early vs late lead removal).
  • Evaluate appropriate peri- and post-implantation antibiotic prophylaxis versus up-and-coming therapies covered in the WRAP-IT Trial.
