Objectives:
- Recall the pathophysiology of acetaminophen (APAP) overdose
- Outline the mechanism of action, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic properties of n-acetylcysteine (NAC) and fomepizole
- Evaluate current primary literature on differing NAC dosing strategies
- Develop a medication treatment plan for a patient with an APAP overdose when given a clinical scenario
