Description: This presentation will provide an overview of hemophilia disorders. The goals of this presentation are to inform our audience about the unique pathophysiology of hemophilia, the similarities and differences between hemophilia A and B, on-demand and prophylaxis regimens, and updates regarding new therapies.

Objectives: ​​ 

  1. Recognize pathophysiology, clinical features, and similarities and differences between hemophilia A and B including severity classification
  2. Compare on-demand and prophylaxis treatment approaches and options for hemophilia
  3. Identify factor repletion strategies for patients with hemophilia
  4. Outline novel therapies used for hemophilia management, including gene therapy and nonfactor replacement therapies
