Description: This presentation will review long-term toxicities associated with CAR T-cell therapy, including infectious complications, secondary malignancies, and immunologic recovery. It will also examine evidence-based management strategies and guideline recommendations, with an emphasis on the pharmacist’s role in prevention, monitoring, and optimization of supportive care.

  1. Describe the pathophysiology and identify key long‑term complications associated with CAR T‑cell therapy
  2. Identify patient‑specific risk factors and patterns of immune reconstitution that contribute to delayed complications following CAR T‑cell therapy
  3. Summarize current evidence and guideline recommendations to develop strategies for the prevention, monitoring, and management of long‑term toxicities
  4. Describe patient‑centered care plans to optimize long‑term monitoring, prophylaxis, and supportive care following CAR T‑cell therapy
