Description: This presentation will explore the critical role of prophylactic antibiotics in trauma care, emphasizing the principles, timing, and duration. It will review the specific considerations for antibiotic use across various trauma scenarios including head, thoracic, abdominal, maxillofacial injuries, as well as open fractures, burns, and skin wounds. Through case discussions and evidence-based recommendations, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to design effective treatment plans and address common pathogens in trauma-related infections.
