Guidance on seizure prophylaxis treatment with newer antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) is limited. Levetiracetam is often used due to its efficacy and safety profile. However, there are newer AEDs, including lacosamide, also with favorable efficacy and safety profiles. This presentation aims to analyze recent literature on lacosamide and levetiracetam for seizure prophylaxis and to compare them for this indication.
