Description: This presentation will provide a review of hormone replacement therapies for patients undergoing gender-affirming care. It will discuss the risks associated with hormone replacement therapy and evaluate the pharmacokinetic changes that occur throughout the transition process.

  • Recall common terminology associated with transgender and gender diverse populations
  • Design a guideline recommended hormone therapy plan for a MtF transgender patient
  • Design a guideline recommended hormone therapy plan for a FtM transgender patient
  • Identify risks associated with hormone therapy in transgender patients
  • Assess how pharmacokinetic changes impact medical treatment for transgender and gender diverse patients
