The Pediatric Acute Care Advanced Practice Residency provides ongoing pediatric education to new graduate and recently hired nurse practitioners at Advocate Children's Hospital. This is a monthly simulation-based education provided to the residents focusing on a variety of pediatric acute care topics.

Overall Objectives:

At the end of this session, learners should be able to: ​
  1.       Describe key elements of treatment protocols for acutely ill pediatric patients and apply treatments plans in clinical practice.
  2.       Design diagnostic and therapeutic plans for acutely ill pediatric patients and apply this to their clinical practice.
  3.       Integrate new information regarding diagnosis and treatment of acutely ill pediatric patients to daily clinical practice.

Target Audience:  
This activity is designed for new graduate Advanced Practice Clinicians who are part of the Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Residency program. ​
